Remember
About Remember
Remember is a psychological horror visual novel by Laucifer. It started out as a fanzine in 2023 before turning into a much bigger game with different characters, routes, and endings.
It starts with an old playlist. While listening to songs from their teenage years, the main character gets caught up in memories of the past. Somehow, that leads them to a forest where a few familiar faces are waiting. They have no idea why they are there, so figuring out what happened becomes the first thing to do.
Now they have to figure out what happened and find a way out.
How To Play Remember Game
There is no complicated combat system or huge map to learn. Most of the game is about reading, making choices, and seeing where those choices take you.
- Read the conversations and keep an eye on the characters.
- Follow the story and look for clues about what happened.
- Pick dialogue options when they come up.
- See where your choices take the story.
- Play through the other routes to find different endings.
- Listen to the songs connected to each character.

What Makes Remember a Horror Game?
Remember keeps its horror fairly quiet. There aren't jumpscares around every corner. Most of the uneasy feeling comes from the forest, the people you meet there, and the fact that you don't really know what is going on.
The more you play, the more you learn about the characters and their past with the protagonist. Your choices also matter, and following a different route can take the story in a completely different direction. Some paths give you a chance to escape, while others lead somewhere much darker.
It is the kind of horror that works better when you take your time with it instead of rushing through the dialogue.
Music, Memories, and Old Internet Culture
Music is a big part of Remember online, with shoegaze, emo, alternative metal, and early-2010s internet culture all showing up in the game. Each main character also has their own song, which fits nicely with the memories behind the story.
If you like the uneasy atmosphere in Remember, these games are worth checking out too. Each one has a slightly different take on horror.
- Backrooms Online - A good fit if you enjoy getting lost in strange places and don't mind a bit of tension while figuring out where to go next.
- Hapunan - Try this one if you prefer slower horror with an everyday setting that slowly starts to feel unsettling.
- CloverPit - If you like darker, more unpredictable games with a strange atmosphere, CloverPit takes things in a very different direction.
- Jeep Horror - This one is for players who want something more direct, with a creepy setting and a simple goal: get through the night and stay out of trouble.
