Bad Parenting puts you in the shoes of Ron, a young boy living with his parents in a small apartment. Things at home are far from normal. His parents argue, his father drinks, and Ron has to live with all of it.

Then there is Mr. Red Face.

Ron knows him as a scary bedtime story, but the strange figure soon starts showing up for real. From there, the apartment doesn't feel like a normal home anymore. Something is always going on, and you slowly start to notice things that Ron probably wishes he could ignore.

The Bad Parenting game has a weird 90s cartoon look that fits the story surprisingly well. The characters look simple, while the dark filters and rough visuals make the rooms feel uncomfortable. It isn't trying to look realistic, which somehow makes some scenes even creepier.

The Apartment Doesn't Feel Safe

Most of the game takes place around Ron's home. You walk around, check rooms, talk to people, and pay attention to things happening around you. There isn't a lot of fighting. The game is more about seeing what is going on and figuring out why things are getting stranger.

Take your time while exploring the apartment. Some things are easy to miss if you just rush from one room to another. Listen to what the characters say and look around before moving on. Mr. Red Face starts showing up more and more, and the bedtime story suddenly doesn't feel like a story anymore.

In Bad Parenting online, the monster is scary, but the family situation is what makes Bad Parenting uncomfortable. Ron is a child stuck in a home where things have already gone wrong. Mr. Red Face turns those fears into something you can actually see.

It's a short horror game, but there is more behind the scares than just a monster chasing you. If you like psychological horror that mixes everyday fears with things that don't quite make sense, Narinig Mo Ba is another game worth checking out.
