About Voices of the Void

The radio suddenly picks up something that should not be there. The signal looks strange, the observatory is quiet, and there is nobody around to ask what just happened. In Voices of the Void, moments like this are normal. You play as Dr. Kel, an astronomer working alone at a radio observatory deep inside the fictional Dunkeltaler National Park in Switzerland.

The job sounds simple at first: find signals from space, record them, process the data, and keep the station running. Then the weird stuff starts happening.

How To Play Voices of the Void Game

Most of the time, work comes first. Check the equipment, deal with incoming signals, process the data, and keep the observatory in working order. There are plenty of small jobs that can keep you busy for a while.

  • Keep an eye on the radio: You’ll spend a lot of time monitoring the radio and waiting for unusual signals to come through.
  • Record strange signals: Found something unusual on the radio? Save the signal, check the data, and move on.
  • Keep the station working: Stuff breaks while you're on duty. If a machine stops working, you'll need to leave the radio and sort it out.
  • Go into the forest: There's nothing stopping you from heading outside for a walk. It seems pretty normal at first, until you start noticing things that shouldn't be there.
  • Watch for events: Strange encounters can happen without much warning.

The Best Part Is Not Knowing What Happens Next

This is where Voices of the Void online really gets compelling. Horror isn't always waiting behind a door. Sometimes nothing happens for ten minutes. You're just sitting there processing signals, listening to the radio, and wondering whether that noise was part of the job.

Then you notice something outside.

A wisp might appear. A ghost deer can show up in the darkness. Even the mannequins around the station aren't always as harmless as they look. Some events are scripted, while others make the quiet routine feel suddenly wrong.

That contrast is what makes the game so effective. One minute you're doing boring maintenance. Next, you're standing outside the observatory at night, trying to figure out what you just saw.

Keep Working, Even When the Forest Feels Wrong

Voices of the Void isn't about fighting everything that scares you. A lot of the fun comes from carrying on with your strange little night shift while the world around the observatory becomes harder to explain. If slow-burn horror, radio mysteries, and unsettling discoveries sound better than constant jump scares, this one is worth a look.

If you liked the uneasy feeling in Voices of the Void, there are a few other psychological horror games worth trying. Jeep Horror takes a different route with its strange nighttime encounters, while Narinig Mo Ba and CloverPit each have their own way of making ordinary situations feel seriously wrong.
