About Exit 8

The strange thing about Exit 8 is that almost nothing happens. You walk through the same subway hallway, looking for one small detail that has changed. Miss an anomaly, and you are sent back to Exit 0.

That simple idea makes the hallway surprisingly tense. There are no complicated puzzles or constant monster attacks. You just need to spot what feels wrong and make the right choice.

How To Play Exit 8 Game

Exit 8 is a psychological horror puzzle game and walking simulator from KOTAKE CREATE. You start at Exit 0 and need to make the correct choice eight times in a row to reach Exit 8.

Each loop gives you the same basic choice: keep walking if everything looks normal, or turn around when you notice an anomaly.

  • Take a second to look around. The signs, doors, lights, and posters can all give away an anomaly.
  • If the hallway looks the same, keep walking. Do not turn around just because you are not completely sure.
  • Something looks wrong? Go back. Turn around and retrace your steps instead of trying to push forward.
  • Watch the exit number: Correct decisions move you forward toward Exit 8.
  • Do not guess too quickly: Turning around when the hallway is normal sends your progress back to Exit 0.
  • Remember what you saw: Some changes are easy to miss when the same hallway keeps repeating.

What Happens If You Make the Wrong Choice in Exit 8

In Exit 8, both choices can cost you. Keep walking after spotting an anomaly, and you go the wrong way. Turn around when everything is normal, and your progress resets.

The trick is to slow down and compare the hallway with the previous loop. A small change can be enough to send you back to Exit 0.

There are no health bars or weapons here. You only lose progress. With eight correct choices needed to escape, one careless decision can ruin a good run.

Why Reaching Exit 8 Feels So Satisfying

After checking the same hallway over and over, reaching Exit 8 feels like a real accomplishment. You have to spot the right anomalies, ignore false alarms, and make eight correct choices in a row. There is no huge final battle; the reward is simply getting out after finally learning to trust your eyes.

More Psychological Horror Games To Try

If you like the uneasy feeling of Exit 8, these psychological horror games take it in very different directions. I'm Not a Human plays with paranoia and uncertainty, while Corridor 9 turns a familiar space into something much harder to trust. Fleshbreak goes for a much darker and more disturbing atmosphere.
